About David Afram

David Afram, MD, FACOG, attended McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he graduated with honors, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his medical education from the American University Caribbean School of Medicine where he was a member of Alpha Omega Phi Honors Society. Upon receiving his Doctor of Medicine, he completed residency programs in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Departments at both Danbury Hospital at Yale University, and The George Washington University Hospital in Washington DC, where he also served as chief resident.

Dr. Afram is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and received an academic appointment from the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He practices general OB/GYN but specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures.

He served on several hospital committees during his tenure at George Washington University Hospital, including the Residency Selection committee, the GYN Oncology Educational Committee, and the Chief Residents Grand Rounds Coordination Committee. He has participated in several research projects that have been submitted for review in the Journal of Gynecologic Oncology. He has conducted several workshops for the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology throughout the country and has conducted over six Grand Rounds and Presentation at George Washington University Hospital.

Dr. Afram has been recognized for several awards over the course of his career including the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology’s Superior CREOG Achievement Award, and the MDx Medical Inc.’s Patient’s Choice Award in 2010.

Dr. Afram is excited to get to know his new patients and new community, while continuing to provide exceptional care for his existing patients from West Virginia. In his free time, Dr. Afram enjoys playing tennis and soccer, and reading with special interest in history, foreign affairs, and philosophy. He is currently accepting new patients.
